Here's what they're actually looking for in those 6 seconds:

Signal 1: Relevant experience in the first 3 lines
If your most relevant experience is buried at the bottom, they'll never see it. Put your best stuff at the top - internships, projects, or skills that match the job description.

Signal 2: Numbers and results
"Managed social media" gets ignored. "Grew Instagram following from 500 to 5,000 in 3 months" gets noticed. Quantify everything you can.

Signal 3: Clean, scannable format
Dense paragraphs are death. Use bullet points. Keep it to one page. Make it easy for their eyes to find what they need.

The 6-second test:
Pull up your resume right now. Look at it for 6 seconds. Can you immediately tell what roles you're qualified for? If not, reorganize.

Do this today: Move your most impressive, relevant accomplishment to the very top of your experience section. Add a number to it if you haven't already.
