Happy Friday!
Here's what nobody tells you about the job search: it's not about applying to more jobs. It's about being first.
The same role LinkedIn shows you 3-5 days from now is already sitting in a pile of 500 applications. Runway pulls jobs straight from company career sites the moment they post, so you see them first, when there are 15 applicants, not 500.
Who sees the role and applies first is the whole game.
Below are today's freshest early-career roles. See all your matches here:

Here's something I've seen over and over: the interns who get the return offer usually aren't the most talented ones. They're the ones who show a little more initiative than everyone else. The gap between a good intern and a great one is smaller than you think, and it's entirely in your control.
Good interns do what's asked. Great interns ask what's next.
When you finish a task, don't go quiet and wait for the next one to land on you. Go back and ask: "That's done, what else can I take off your plate?"
Interns who ask for more work read as hungry and low-maintenance, exactly the person a team wants to keep. Most interns coast once they finish. Doing the opposite makes you stand out instantly.
Good interns take notes. Great interns don't need to be told twice.
Taking notes is table stakes. The real signal is what you do with them, never making your manager repeat an instruction.
Nothing builds trust faster than an intern who absorbs something once and just handles it from then on. It's the difference between feeling like a temporary helper and feeling like a real hire.
Good interns show up on time. Great interns show up early and stay curious.
Treat the internship like what it actually is: a 10-week interview. Every day is being evaluated, not just your final project.
Show up early, ask questions, stay genuinely interested in how things work. Curiosity reads as someone who wants to be there, not someone counting down to a paycheck.
Good interns avoid mistakes. Great interns own them and fix them fast.
You're going to mess something up. Everyone does. What actually matters is what happens next.
Owning a mistake immediately and fixing it fast says more about you than never making one. Hiding it or getting defensive is what damages trust, not the mistake itself.
Good interns finish the internship. Great interns leave with an offer.
The finish line isn't the last day. It's walking out with a full-time job locked in, or at minimum a manager who'd fight to bring you back.
Everything above is what gets you there. Not being the smartest person in the room, being the one they can't imagine letting go.
Do this today: If you're interning now, pick one thing, finish your next task and immediately ask what else you can help with. If your internship hasn't started yet, save this and reread it on day one. That head start is what separates good from great.
You got this!
