The job search advice you see assumes you have hours a day. You don't. You've got a full course load, maybe a part-time job, and a life. So the real question isn't "how do I do everything," it's "how do I make limited time actually count."

30 focused minutes beats 3 distracted hours

You don't need to grind all day. You need a short, consistent block where you actually do the work, no inbox-refreshing, no doom-scrolling job boards.

Block 30 minutes a day. That's 3.5 hours a week, which is plenty if it's focused.

Batch your tasks instead of mixing them

Switching between searching, tailoring, and applying all day kills your focus. Group similar tasks instead:

  • Sunday: find and save 5-10 roles for the week

  • Weekday mornings: tailor and apply to one

  • Friday: send your follow-ups all at once

Batching means you're not starting cold every single day.

Build a base resume once, tweak it fast

Don't rewrite your resume from scratch each time. Build one strong version, then each application only needs 3-4 small tweaks to match the posting.

Five minutes per application instead of thirty. The first time is the work. After that it's editing.

Use the dead time you're throwing away

You have more pockets of time than you think:

  • Between classes: send one follow-up

  • Waiting in line: scroll saved jobs instead of social media

  • Commute: do company research on your phone

You don't need a free afternoon. You need to use the 10-minute gaps.

Let the jobs come to you

The single biggest time-saver is not hunting across a hundred sites every day. Set up alerts, use tools that deliver matched roles to you, and skip the part where you go looking.

That's the whole reason this newsletter exists, you open one email at noon and the fresh, early-career roles are already here. No searching required. Spend your limited time applying, not hunting.

Protect your schoolwork

Your grades and your degree still matter. Don't torch your GPA chasing applications. A sustainable 30 minutes a day beats a burnout weekend that wrecks your Monday.

The big idea

You don't need more time. You need a system that fits the time you have. Consistent small effort beats occasional massive pushes, especially when you're already stretched thin.

Do this today: Block 30 minutes on your calendar for tomorrow. That's your job-search window. Then scroll down and apply to one role from today's list right now.

You got this!
