Your internship starts Monday.

You're nervous. You want to make a good first impression.

Here's your exact first-day checklist:

Before you arrive:

✅ Know your start time and where to go (building, floor, who to ask for)
✅ Plan your commute (arrive 10 minutes early, not 2 minutes late)
✅ Prepare your outfit the night before (business casual unless told otherwise)
✅ Bring a notebook and pen
✅ Have your ID and any paperwork they asked for

First hour (8-9am):

You'll probably do HR paperwork and orientation.

✅ Fill out forms carefully
✅ Ask questions if anything is unclear
✅ Get your laptop, badge, login credentials
✅ Set up your workspace

Hours 2-3 (9-11am):

Your manager will likely walk you through the role and introduce you to the team.

✅ Take notes on everything
✅ Write down people's names and roles
✅ Ask about team communication (Slack? Email? Daily standups?)
✅ Get clarity on your first project or task

Lunch (11:30am-1pm):

Don't eat alone at your desk on day one.

Afternoon (1-5pm):

What NOT to do:

❌ Show up late
❌ Be on your phone constantly
❌ Stay silent all day
❌ Pretend you understand when you don't
❌ Complain about anything
❌ Overshare personal information
