Happy Monday!

Welcome to your daily dose of curated early-career opportunities! Your job search shouldn’t feel confusing, late, or based on luck.

Stop applying to jobs you're not qualified for. Runway shows your match % for every role so you can focus on the ones you'll actually land.

If you want clarity on today’s roles (and thousands more), check your matches here:

I hear this all the time: "My GPA is only a 3.3, so I'm not getting interviews."

Here's the truth: Your GPA isn't the problem.

After reviewing thousands of applications through Runway, I can tell you what actually gets students rejected:

It's not your GPA. It's your lack of proof that you can actually do the work.

Here's what I mean:

Candidate A:

  • 3.9 GPA

  • Dean's List every semester

  • Relevant coursework listed

  • Zero projects, zero internships, zero real-world experience

Candidate B:

  • 3.2 GPA

  • Built 3 web apps (one has 500+ active users)

  • Freelanced for 2 local businesses

  • Created a data analysis tool their professor now uses in class

Who gets the interview?

Candidate B. Every single time.

Why employers care less about GPA than you think:

A high GPA tells them you're good at school. That's it.

Projects, internships, and real work tell them you can:

  • Solve actual problems

  • Work independently

  • Finish what you start

  • Create things people actually use

The hard truth: A 4.0 with nothing to show for it signals "I'm good at memorizing but I've never applied anything."

What to do if your GPA is "low":

1. Build something. Anything.

  • A portfolio website

  • An analysis of publicly available data

  • A mock marketing campaign for a real brand

  • A script that solves a problem you have

2. Make it visible Put it on your resume, LinkedIn, and GitHub. Link to live demos when possible.

3. Lead with it Instead of hiding your GPA and hoping they don't ask, lead with: "I have a 3.2 GPA, but I've built [specific project] that's currently being used by [X people/company]."

4. Get one real client/user Even if it's free work for a friend's startup or a local nonprofit. Real-world validation > grades.

Do this over break: Pick ONE project you can build in the next 2 weeks. Something small but real. Put it on your resume before January recruiting starts.

A 3.2 with proof beats a 4.0 with promises.
