Here's the hard truth about timing:
Apply within 24 hours of a job posting = highest chance of getting seen
Apply within 3 days = still good odds
Apply after 3 days = buried under 100+ other applications
Why timing matters this much:
Day 1: Recruiter sees 20-30 applications, reviews most of them
Day 2: 50 more applications come in, they're scanning faster
Day 3: 100+ applications total, they've probably moved candidates to interviews
Day 7+: Your resume is on page 4, they're not even looking anymore
What to do about it:
Set up job alerts on Runway, LinkedIn, and Indeed so you see new postings immediately.
Check them daily (yes, daily).
When you see a good fit, apply that day. Not "this weekend" or "when I have time to perfect my resume."
A good application submitted on day 1 beats a perfect application submitted on day 7.
Speed matters. Get in early or get buried.
