It's raining in Atlanta today.
I'm sitting here with coffee, watching the rain hit the window.
And honestly? After I send this newsletter, I'm closing my laptop and doing absolutely nothing work-related for the rest of the day.
And you shouldn't either.
I know the job search grind is real. I know you feel like you should be applying to jobs, updating your resume, sending LinkedIn messages.
But not today.
Here's what a rainy Sunday is actually for:
1. Catch up on sleep
If you've been grinding all week, your brain needs rest more than it needs another cover letter.
Sleep in. Take a nap. Your productivity tomorrow will be better for it.
2. Do something completely unrelated to your career
Read a book (not a career development book).
Watch a movie.
Cook something you've never tried before.
Call a friend you haven't talked to in months.
Your life is more than your job search.
3. Move your body (even if it's raining)
Go for a walk in the rain (seriously, it's underrated).
Do a 20-minute YouTube workout.
Stretch for 10 minutes.
Physical movement clears mental fog better than staring at job postings.
4. Journal or think without pressure
Not about your career. Not about your goals.
Just... what's on your mind? What's been good this week? What's been hard?
Sometimes the best thing you can do for your future is process your present.
Why I'm telling you this:
Because I see so many students burning out before they even start their careers.
You're treating the job search like it's the only thing that matters. And I get it - it feels urgent.
But grinding 7 days a week with no breaks doesn't make you more productive. It makes you resentful, exhausted, and less effective when it actually counts.
The students who land jobs aren't the ones who never stop.
They're the ones who work strategically, take real breaks, and show up sharp when it matters.
So here's your assignment for today:
Don't apply to any jobs. Don't update your resume. Don't send networking messages.
Just rest. Recharge. Be a human.
Monday you'll be back at it with fresh energy.
Enjoy the rain.

P.S. If you absolutely can't help yourself: Find ONE job on Runway that was posted Thursday or Friday where you have at least an 80% match score. Spend 20 minutes tailoring your resume directly for that role. Then apply and close your laptop for the rest of the day.
See you in your inbox tomorrow morning,
