Here are today's fresh opportunities for Thursday, February 26th:

Your virtual interview keeps freezing. Your audio cuts out. You look washed out on camera.

These technical issues are costing you offers.

Here's what's actually going wrong:

Problem 1: Bad internet

WiFi drops during the interview = instant red flag.

Fix: Plug directly into ethernet if possible. Close every other app and browser tab. Tell roommates not to stream during your interview.

Problem 2: Terrible lighting

Sitting with a window behind you = you're a dark silhouette.

Fix: Face a window or lamp. Light should hit your face, not come from behind you. Test it before the interview.

Problem 3: Camera angle

Laptop on your lap = camera pointing up your nose.

Fix: Stack books under your laptop so the camera is at eye level.

Problem 4: Audio issues

Your laptop mic picks up every background noise.

Fix: Use earbuds with a mic (AirPods work great). Test your audio 10 minutes before.

Problem 5: You're not looking at the camera

Staring at their face on screen = looks like you're not making eye contact.

Fix: Look directly at the camera lens when you're speaking. Look at the screen when they're speaking.

The 10-minute pre-interview checklist:

✅ Test camera and audio
✅ Close all other apps
✅ Check your background (clean and simple)
✅ Verify your lighting (face should be clearly visible)
✅ Have water nearby (out of frame)
✅ Put phone on silent
✅ Join 2-3 minutes early

Do this today:

Set up your interview space. Turn on your camera. Record yourself for 30 seconds.

If anything looks or sounds off, fix it now before your next interview.
