Hey there!

Welcome to your daily dose of curated early-career opportunities! Your job search shouldn’t feel confusing, late, or based on luck.

Stop applying to jobs you're not qualified for. Runway shows your match % for every role so you can focus on the ones you'll actually land.

If you want clarity on today’s roles (and thousands more), check your matches here:

Everyone says: "It's all about who you know."

So you add 500 people on LinkedIn, attend networking events, and collect business cards.

Then... nothing happens. Because you're missing the other half:

It's not about who you know. It's about who knows what you can DO.

The difference:

Knowing someone: You met at a career fair, added them on LinkedIn, maybe chatted for 5 minutes.

Them knowing what you can do: They've seen your work, heard about your projects, or know your specific skills.

Example:

You message an alum: "Hey, we both went to Georgia Tech! Can you refer me for the marketing role?"

They're thinking: "I don't know this person or what they're capable of. Why would I put my reputation on the line?"

Better approach:

You message an alum: "I saw you work in marketing at Nike. I just analyzed your TikTok campaign strategy for my capstone project and found some interesting patterns. Would love to share what I found."

Now they're thinking: "This person actually does marketing work and took initiative. Let me see what they found."

The real networking formula:

  1. Show your work before asking for help

  2. Add value to the conversation

  3. Make it easy for them to understand what you're good at

  4. Then ask for the referral

Your network is only as valuable as what you give them to vouch for.

Do this today:

Instead of cold messaging 10 random people asking for referrals, pick one person and show them something you've built, analyzed, or created first.

Give them a reason to remember you beyond "we went to the same school."
